This is a tutorial on how to add other Arcade emulators to the MAME list but be warned this is a long process and you will lose the use of the batch file launcher in Maximus Arcade (but i suppose you could download Batchrun and add that as a custom emulator).
Ok.Basically the main part of this process is to make a batch file for every mame game you have and a batch file for every other game you intend to add (I had to make around 2500 batch files!!).I will give you an example batch file for each emulator and any relevent wrappers you need to launch the game. Also you need to create the emulators batch file in the emulators own directory.
Oh yeah one last thing save the batch files as the games native rom name (e.g tmnt instead of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (4 Players)) this makes it easier for screenshots, marquees, etc
I will warn you again THIS IS A VERY LONG AND DRAWN OUT PROCESS so be prepared.
If your not familiar with creating batch files heres a quick example.
1.Right Click the mouse and select new, Text document
2.Edit the document and type in the following Start notepad.exe then save as testbatch.bat and change save type to all files.
3.When you click on your newly created batch file you will see notepad automatically start up.
And there you have it you've just created your first batch file :)
Easy one this. The batch file you need is as follows
Change the executable name to whichever mame variant your using.
Do the same for all roms in your MAME directory (good luck)
Because this emulator doesn't use the escape key to exit the emulator you need to use the 'Generic Command Line Launcher 7.0' found on the custom emulators page simply copy it into the cps III emulator directory and edit the iconfig file as follows exe=emulator.exe and ExitType=2.
An example batch file is:-
Do the same for all roms in your cps III directory.
The first thing you need to do is to make sure your framefiles and mpegs are in the same place in the main daphne directory not in sub folders.
Then the batch file is as follows:-
Daphne.exe ace vldp -fullscreen -framefile ace.txt
Do the same for all roms in your daphne directory.
This emulator needs a wrapper for it to work. You can download it from the link provided and install the wrapper into your nulldc directory.
Then you need the following batch file:-
Do the same for all roms in your nulldc naomi directory.
Null DC Naomi Wrapper link (copy and paste) http://www.mediafire.com/?mqbmmziw3tz
The 'Radikal Loader' wrapper is needed for this. You can get it from the Spesoft forums but you will need to register (its free) to download the file.Extract the file into the Radikal Bikers directory.
Download link (copy and paste) http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=3&pid=63412&st=20&#entry63412
Then create this batch file:-
Because this emulator doesn't use the escape key to exit the emulator you need to use the 'Generic Command Line Launcher 7.0' found on the custom emulators page simply copy it into the Sega Model 2 directory and edit the iconfig file as follows exe=emulator_multicpu.exe and ExitType=2.
An example batch file is:-
Do the same for all roms in your Sega Model 2 directory.
This emulator needs a wrapper for it to work. You can download it from the link provided and install the wrapper into your VivaNonno directory.
Then you need the following batch file:-
Do the same for all roms in your VivaNonno directory.

Zinc is a little different than other emulators because it uses numbers instead of rom names when launching from a batchfile.
This is a complete list of the games and their relevent rom numbers:-

So the batch file for Star Gladiator should look like this
These are not as straight forward as the other emulators so I've decided to dedicate a separate page for them.
So now you've created all your batch files (and not given up yet lol) you need to make your short cuts so you can launch your batchfiles from Maximus Arcade.
The first thing you need to do is create a new folder on your hard drive and name it 'Batch Files'.
Then starting with Mame create a shortcut for all your batch files and drag them over to your 'Batch Files' folder. You don't have to create a separate short cut for each file you can drag your mouse over all the files and create all the short cuts in one click. Then do the same for the other emulators.
If you don't want to see the command string when you open your batch file you will need to change each short cut separately.Right click on the shortcut select properties and choose start minimized (sorry no quick fix to that).
Next open up the preferences in Maximus Arcade.
Click the configuration tab and select Batch Files
Point Media (roms) to your 'Batch Files' folder
Then Click on the Scan tab and check the Force Rescan of Media Folder box
Next click the Display Order tab highlight Batch Files and click add then close preferences and start maximus arcade.
Its not over just yet more hard work on its way.
1.Open up the maximus arcade preferences
2.Click on the game lists tab
3.Choose configuration for batch files
4.Click on the first name you want to change then click on the modify tab and you will see a new window appear
5.Alter the description to the name you want e.g. 8ballact will be changed to Eight Ball Action.
DON'T FORGET to click on Save List often. When all games are renamed give a huge sigh of relief and hit the save list tab one more time because all the hard work is almost done.
All you need to do now is change the emulator selection picture, marquee, excetera in the theme editor. But theres plenty of tutorials out there without me giving you another.
And thats it your custom Mame list is done.
